Instagram new feature let you filter and hide comments you don't want to see on your posts

Instagram unveiled a new feature known as "comment keyword filtering". This new feature is available for all users. According to Instagram, This new feature will enable you to automatically hide comments that you don't want to see on your posts. It will let you create a preset list of potentially offensive words/keywords or spam comments you don't want to see on your post, like: "buy followers and likes"and its will automatically hide those words from your post.

To enable this feature, you need to follow the below steps:

  • Go to your profile and tap (iOS) or (Android) in the top-right.
  • Tap Comments.
  • Tap next to Hide Inappropriate Comments to filter comments using a default list of keywords, or enter custom keywords below Custom Keywords. Custom keywords can include any words, phrases, numbers or emojis you'd like to filter out, separated by commas.
  • Tap Done.

It will be good for you to know that this new feature "default and custom keyword filtering" are currently not available in all languages:
  • Default Keywords: The default list of keywords is currently only in English, and contains the most common inappropriate and offensive words on Instagram, including profanity.
  • Custom Keywords: Currently, custom keyword filtering doesn't support languages without spaces (ex: Chinese, Japanese, Thai).

Also, those comments you filtered aren’t actually deleted, even if they contain keywords you’ve filtered out. Instead, they’re merely hidden from public view: if you later disable filtering, or the specific keyword in question, the comments will be visible again. And when you turn on comment filtering, it’s applied to both new and existing comments on your posts. when you turn off comment filtering, filtered comments on your posts will be restored.

To use this new feature, You’ll need to be running the latest version of Instagram in your devicea and you can get them from your various stores "App Store and Google Play today".
