AT&T opt out of deal to sell Huwai Mate 10 Pro in the US
Sequel to report and rumors which had it last year that Huawei Mate 10 Pro was going to be launched at AT&T but the launch was later rescheduled for February and now it obvious it never going to happen.
According to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, AT&T has decided to opt out of the deal with the Chinese smartphone maker. The news comes ahead of Huawei’s CES press conference, which would be taking place tomorrow. That was widely expected to be when the deal between AT&T and Huwai will be officially announced.
It was not clear why the carrier opted out, but Huawei is likely to still introduce the Mate 10 Pro for the US market anyway, selling it unlocked through big retailers such as Amazon – like it has done with the Mate 9 in time past. The now-canceled deal with AT&T was Huawei’s first shot at selling its high-end devices through one of the ‘big four’ US carriers.
