Google ARCore 1.0 roll out begins ahead of MWC 2018 unveiling

Google is set to launch the version 1.0 of its "ARCore" Augmented Reality Framework SDK (Software Development Kit) for developers on Android, just like Apple's "ARKit".
Google ARCore Version 1.0 allows Smartphones to run augmented reality SDK (Software Development Kit) on applications which enable users to place virtual assets on textured surfaces like posters, furniture, toy boxes, books, cans and more.

The ARCore applications will either overlay the 3D objects on top of the phone's camera feed or allow you to use the phone as a camera in a 3D world, moving your viewpoint around as you move the phone.

Google has begun the official roll out of the ARCore 1.0, which is now globally available for 13 smartphones which are Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, Note 8, S7 and S7 edge, LG V30 and V30 Plus (Android Oreo only), ASUS Zenfone AR and OnePlus 5.

It will be made available on the upcoming devices from Samsung, Huawei, LG, Motorola, Asus, Xiaomi, Nokia, ZTE, Sony Mobile, and Vivo later this year. Google said that ARCore is designed to work on a wide variety of qualified Android phones running Android 7.0 (Nougat).

Google is also working on making China get the ARCore rollout as there has not been Google products available in China thereby partnering with OEMs like Huawei, Xiaomi, and Samsung allowing OEMs to publish AR-based apps on their proprietary app stores.
