VerveTree to Launch a Tech Hub in Ogun State

The growth of Technology in Abeokuta the state capital of Ogun state is something not to be talked about as this is becoming a great development within the state, although the state is majorly known for its Cultural Heritage and Tourism.

We have seen lots of Technological events been held in Abeokuta such as;

* The #TechPreneursHangOut "which is an annual convergence for coders, developers, programmers, graphics designers, creative curators, content writers, illustrators, digital enthusiasts, bloggers, social media handlers and tech policymakers in and around the city of Abeokuta, Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole to innovate, collaborate and explore new frontiers in this digital-driven emerging economy".

* #Techaholics "is a monthly Tech talk meet-up event in the city of Abeokuta to get young, creative and savvy Techpreneurs mentored by gurus in the digital space. The event was launched after the #TechPreneursHangOut by @OnlineHuNG.
The Techaholics event, follow a ‘fireside chat’ format where only one speaker is featured and the host sits in armchairs facing the audience while the host asks questions revolving around the tech community in AbeokutaOgun State, Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the World.

VerveTree, an IT consulting firm in the state’s capital, Abeokuta which hosted the recently concluded TechSummitOgun event that was graced by leading stakeholders within the Technology and Innovation ecosystem in Nigeria, the speakers include Bosun Tijani of CcHub, Seni Sulyman of Andela, Kola Aina of Emerging Platforms, Tolu Ogunlesi and others. The event recorded about 1500 participants which were mostly youths in tertiary institutions and small business owners within the state. The firm has announced its intentions to launch the first ever anticipated Tech hub in the state.

Ayoola Olaniyi (CEO of VerveTree) said in a discussion, that the Tech hub will be a solution center for the creative thinker and to provide great innovations. He added that it will offer startups the opportunity to work with facilities and research institutes within the state.

In the process to achieve this goal, VerveTree will begin to call for ideas in March in which 5 of them will be picked to kick-start the hub in July this year.

Meanwhile, the Ogun state governor, Senator Ibukunle Amosun, has also pledged his support during the Tech summit event. In which he stated that the state will earmark $1 million to support startups so as to lift the Technology ecosystem and boost digital literacy and Technology entrepreneurship within the state.
