The smartphone’s notch display shows various hardware components, and according to "Phone Arena", it shows that from the left side, there is a sensor that appears to be a large infrared camera which should help improve face detection even in low-light condition. This is followed by a front camera for a regular selfie camera that was not included in the Apple's Face ID feature.

After that, at the center of the notch, there is a small grill that can be seen which belongs to the in-ear speaker while, next to this, there is a relatively large rectangular component present with a small hole on the top. This is likely home to the microphone. In regards to the last two hardware elements that are featured on the right side, the square component closely looks like Apple’s dot projector, suggesting this will be Xiaomi’s 3D facial recognition module, while it is unclear what the purpose of the final component is. Although, the module is not small enough to be a proximity sensor neither is it big enough to be a secondary front-facing camera but that will be known after the unveiling.

The Xiaomi Mi 7 is expected to be launched at an event on May 23, so it is just a matter of days before we officially know what's actually behind the 3D facial components. Aside from that, it was revealed that customers who are not comfortable with the 3D facial recognition technology can unlock their device through the rumored in-display fingerprint scanner.

It was also rumored that the Xiaomi Mi 7 might be launched as Xiaomi Mi 8 which will represent the company's 8th Anniversary.

The phone is rumored to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with a 6GB RAM and another 8GB RAM variant.
